MilliLab

Millimetre Wave Laboratory of Finland – MilliLab, established in 1995, is a joint laboratory between VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland and Aalto University. It is also a European Space Agency (ESA) External Laboratory on Millimetre Wave Technology.

MilliLab conducts research and development at millimeter wave and terahertz frequencies, especially studying new measurement, test and calibration methods. MilliLab supports European space Industry to meet the demands of future ESA missions that include several millimeter wave and terahertz instruments. Furthermore, MilliLab provides its expertise to any other user of millimeter-wave technology. Services at millimeter wave and terahertz frequencies are offered in research and development, device characterization, device modelling, and measurement and testing.

MilliLab facilities in Aalto are described in Aalto ELE-ICT.

MilliLab organizes every 3-5 years the ESA Workshop on Millimetre Wave Technology and Applications; in 2011 and 2016 this workshop was organized in collaboration with the Global Symposium on Millimeter Waves (see: http://gsmm2011.tkk.fi/home.html and http://gsmm2016.aalto.fi/).
