What is new in health technology, electrical systems, and acoustics? What is happening in nanotechnology, radio science, power electronics, communication, IoT, space technology? Or are you interested in signal processing, user interfaces, cyber security, and other current technologies and their applications? Research Winter Day will have it all!

7th Annual Research Winter Day – Focusing on Industry-University Cooperation

The Research Winter Day 2018 of the School of Electrical Engineering will take place on Tuesday February 27th at 15.00-18.00 at Dipoli (Otakaari 24, Espoo) auditorium Lumituuli and the lobby area.

The event will start with keynotes from small, medium-sized and large companies – Elfys Oy, ICEYE, Genelec Oy and Planmeca Oy – sharing their stories and views on cooperation with Aalto University and its influence on the development of the company. Salad buffet will be served at the lobby.

15.25                                            Genelec, Aki Mäkivirta: Win-win in SME-academia cooperation
 Genelec is an SME with all product research and development as well as production in Finland. Genelec has a long history of research cooperation with academia to deepen understanding of fundamental questions including topics in acoustics, audio signal processing, acoustic transducer design, material sciences and  physical system simulation, in order to generate know-how and enable creation of bleeding-edge technology solutions in the area of audio signal monitoring. The cooperation with Aalto University has a history as long as the history of the company. Lately, Aalto University has enabled Genelec to deepen understanding about acoustic control room acoustics, psychoacoustics, and modelling of monitoring systems.
